Rain, Rain, Went Away, Then it Came Back Another Day

It has rained three days this week, so far. The week is not over and I am optimistic for the weekend. For so long we have had storms build up right by us, or head straight for us, then as soon as it gets here it shifts directions. It is really frustrating! I do not really understand how it can change directions so quickly but it does.

We have been really lucky this week with the rain. I have not had to water my flowers at all this week.On Monday it rained at night, until 1a.m.. I was unfortunately at work instead of at home with my family enjoying the beautiful lightening show. Audrey called me and every time she saw lightening she would say, "Mommy wook!" and turn the phone in that direction so that I could "see".  Brandon said she loved it and would clap her hands every time.

On Tuesday it rained during the day while I was at work. I was really sad because I thought that taking Audrey to play in the puddles would be one of the most fun activities of the summer. I did however, enjoy sitting at work in peace reading my book and enjoying the smell and sound of the rain.

Thursday was our day. It started raining just as I was leaving to pick up Audrey from the babysitter. By the time we got home and it had stopped raining, there were plenty of puddles and mud to get rowdy in. Audrey loves water so much so I took her through the puddles in her Cozy Coupe.
As we drove around the block I noticed a nice muddy area. I could not resist.

Flip flops were a bad idea

Audrey loved our little adventure and so did I. I cannot wait to do it again! Come on rain!

Hawley Lake

Brandon, Audrey, and I went on a fishing trip to Hawley Lake with our friends and their two girls. It was so much fun! The only fish that was caught was a few Blue Gill's, but we did catch a whole lot of Crawfish and sun-rays. Audrey and I ended up with pretty bad sunburns. She had sunblock on the whole time so hers is not as bad. I, on the other hand, am crispy. Gross. Other than that, we had so much fun.

We spent the morning fishing, snacking, and chit-chatting.

Not long after we got there, there was a little accident. Little Kylee leaned too far over while trying to watch her daddy catch crawfish and fell right into the water. She was crying from shock but she didn't cry long. She was a trooper. After the shock wore off she did admit it was a little fun.

Audrey was having a good ol' time. She loved the trees, water, cows, chipmunks, and Lilee and Kylee's company. She did not love the butterflies, the fish, the dragonflies, or the crawfish (buggies to her). She disliked them so much that she woke up from her nap on the way home in a panic, looking around in her car seat saying, "buggies!" It was so sad! Later that night she kept waking up screaming that there were buggies in her bed. It was really quite sad. I just made her repeat to herself, "buggies at lake, not in bed."

Besides the scary "buggies," she enjoyed watching the cute little chipmunks as they at her spilled snacks. Little Lilee was determined to catch one. She never did but it was fun to watch.

As the day went on the weather became pretty hot. Audrey and I spent plenty of time with our feet in the water. Audrey splashed and laughed the whole time. She loves water. Before the day ended we had to take her for a ride in the boat. She had been begging since she saw Wes and Cassy take their girls out. She has never been on a boat before so I thought she would be a little scared. She wasn't. She LOVED it. Makes me really want to buy a boat, just for her.

It is a long drive for us from Holbrook to Hawley Lake but it was worth it. We all had so much fun and the scenery reminded me of Utah. I felt like we were driving up Payson canyon. The road was perfectly curvy and there were even Aspen trees. I was a happy girl. I guess I was squealing with delight because at one point Audrey even said, "Mommy happy." She was right.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

I have a lot of pictures that I wanted to create full posts with but I never had the time. So, in interest of saving every one's time I am going to post just the pictures.

Happy viewing!

It's done, it's done!

Random Audrey super-cuteness

This is how she puts her makeup on

Then she paints her nails with her blush

Smile!

She chose her own clothes this day.

Yes, I do realize this seems like a scary thing to let your child do. If you look at the picture above you will notice this area is COMPLETELY fenced. Not even a cat could jump onto the freeway if it wanted to. Audrey enjoys coming here and naming the colors of the cars and making the trucks honk.

This was the most disgusting ice cream cone I've ever tasted.
Fourth of July weekend was a blast. We partied/played/ate/watched fireworks all weekend long. One of the days (I do not remember which) it rained for a long time. The kids loved running in it. Audrey had a blast chasing around Kyler, Ryland, and Dysen. It was so much fun to watch and listen to them laugh.

This is Ryland and Audrey watching the fireworks from the safety of the house. Silly kids.

Cousin Mariah, Audrey, and Casey's little girl Paityn
I found an abundance of these little creatures in our garden where the hollihocks and weeds are. We were pulling weeds and I felt like I was taking there home away. I was slightly sad.
